Arbiture

Where to begin…

Arbiture has been a stop/start project for me. It began due to my affinity for the short story, The Fallen. I liked the creative glimmers in the story; the small details that shaped its brief existence, and felt that there was more to this race of characters than a short battle scene, Who are they? Why do some have wings? What is this religion? What is this world? Why are they fighting, and where do these sweet tech-tanks comes from?

I took these little snippets and broadened their importance, world building them in time for the 2009 NaNoWriMo. It was to hypothetically take place when two angelic races discover a dreamlike realm between their own and begin populating it, learning about one another in the process. Seemingly overcoming their entirely opposing cultures, these races co-exist for millennia, until some lose their wings and old attitudes re-emerge. The story was to be advanced through the POV of two soldiers from opposing sides who fall in love, and an elder who wishes to change the perceptions of his own people.

Unfortunately, I lost my way and ironically, it was the very creation of the universe that had been so hard to define and create. Hopefully I can get it back on track someday.
