And The Stars Ran Red

Blurb:

‘Humans are a persistent race, surviving until the end of the universe no less. Changes have occurred however, and they are no longer the global power they used to be, nor the servants of some superior grey aliens. They have gotten there, but who knows how. The lineage of the race is sketchy, the technology they use broken, and the HUB — a vast base created from the husks of ancient ships — falling apart at the seams. There only hope in a sea of nothing is to find a Red Dwarf: one still eternally burning out. Plotters search for them, spending years of their lives looking for a dim light in a dark universe. Hope, is fleeting.

Quint is one such Plotter, but the answers he returns with are far from enlightening. He’s found nothing, and the space-faring community is not happy. People are losing faith, looking for options elsewhere, and willing to do anything to survive that much longer.

And The Stars Ran Red is an ensemble character story following a community of people, and what they do in the face of their own extinction. At its heart though, it’s about family, faith, and truth.

I began And the Stars Ran Red in February of 2009, finishing it in January 2010. I have edited the draft twice, and now it’s in the beta reading phase.
