An Update From Tryville

“Do or do not, there is no try.”

If you know who said that, well done, you’re a sci-fi geek. I like the quote — I like its meaning — but it’s not entirely accurate. I’d like to live by it, but I don’t, I’d like to like the prequel movies more than I do, but that’s impossible, and I’d like to raise an X-Wing out of a shitty swamp, but I can’t. So, putting aside the things I know I can’t do right now, I’ll simply mention some of the things I am doing.

First off, I’m going to take part in Nick Enlowe’s NPI. I don’t think I took part in the last one, or I did and failed so miserably that I needed to block out the memory.  It will be up and down, as September is the month Boy starts up school again, my work schedule changes, and we’re visiting family in Canada… so, that will be interesting. I’ll do the best I can considering all I can. Golden.

Secondly, I’m putting together May 5 & The Assassin for an e-book publication. Call it the complete series, a 2nd edition, I’m not sure what. But I am putting together all 15 episodes, editing and cleaning them up and releasing it in what a cinephile would call a Director’s Cut. Or, an Author’s Cut I guess. I’m taking my time to make sure they all work as one, and the bonus of not having a time-constraint will allow me to add some parts of the story I wasn’t entirely happy with. I’m not sure whether to release through Amazon Kindle or Smashwords, but I’m looking into the entire process.

Hopefully when I release it, there will be enough interest to warrant the second going over — a few purchases at least. I think I may also add some artwork and images I created for the series in the e-pub, though I don’t even know how that works.

Lastly, I’m doing what I can to finish a short story I started a couple of months back. Nothing huge, nothing special, but something that’s helping me get through a few creative rings of fire. Calming down my imagination if you will, or rather, letting it stay in one place long enough for me to whack it over the head and drag the ideas back to my cave.

Anyway, that’s about it for now. Just a drop in, a pop out. I’m done, though hopefully not for another month!

Hey, I’ll definitely be buying May 5 and I’ll do my best to help you get the word out.
P.S. That quote isn’t exactly an obscure reference ;)

    Sweet, thanks.

On the quote front, I saw a funny poster on some site the other day. It had the quote beside an image of Gandalf, and accredited it to Dumbledore, haha. Talk about a swing and a miss.

That…totally blows my mind. In a hilarious way.
