At this time two years ago, I started writing And The Stars Ran Red. Approximately a year later — once again at this time, obviously — I finished the same novel. This year? Well, let’s say 2010 wasn’t the best suit I ever wore. I took a break before running through a second draft and editing, and never really went back. I took a break if you will, which turned into an entire year of doing very little when it came to writing fiction. Don’t get me wrong, I broke into Freelance article writing, but fiction… nope.
Well, March is here and it’s my birthday on the 31st, and to be honest I don’t think I’ll be happy unless I get accomplished on something by that time. I don’t even care if it’s starting something, as long as it’s something (but I really should get on that editing of ‘Ran Red). I have a new story synopsis floating around in my head, and details are coming together but not quick enough, not by my own standards — I want a big gulp of water, not little sips here and there.
This is what I hope to get accomplished in March:
- Start editing And The Stars Ran Red
- Plot, flesh out and begin writing the tentatively named, Only Shadows Ahead
- Continue May 5 & The Assassin
It’s not a huge list, but I’m trying to be realistic and even those three are pushing it. May is a sure thing, but I may have to choose my time wisely between editing and writing. No matter what though, I have to start doing something if anyone — including myself — is going to take me seriously as a writer, if I’m ever to be as successful as the great, Dr. Ronald Chevalier.
