It Lives On The Interweb

Well, it’s been a few months coming and some long periods of time between edits, designing and general attention but finally I got down to it and made my site live. That’s right, after quite some time of owning the domain rgsanders.com I now have something to show for it.

Luckily my wife is a talented website / graphic designer (visit her here) and so I tasked her with designing the site itself, and obviously being the finicky writer I am, I put the content in to my own liking. You can go ahead and find your way there via the link up top (to the left there), by typing rgsanders.com into an address bar or simply by clicking here.

We went for a more casual approach, but one that maintained a certain style and consistency so that it carried through every page and reflected my own personality as much as a website can — God forbid it turned out to be a ‘welcome to my website’ example (this isn’t the late 90’s).

On the site itself I have put my short fiction stories back up after taking them off of my old blogger… blog and added a few other things. It will fill out in time, but considering that I have been writing for a long time and most of it is on paper, it will take time to type up my really old stuff — which I would like to do to showcase the ebbs and flows of what talent I have had through the years.

In the end, I just wanted to get it live. It’s been sitting in my files for too long and I’m paying for a domain I’m not using, so there it is. Feel free to tell me what you think, or of any corrections you see.

For now though, please enjoy.

Your portal page looks professional. I particularly like how you layed out the current projects and short stories.
Coincidentally I’ve been trying to go live, too; made a lot of progress over the holiday weekend (learning PHP, took a refresher course on xml+css/messed around with vector graphics).
I think the hardest part is the web graphics. It takes so much work and motivation just to make one nice-looking button!
Anyway, hope the domain name and polished look nets you lots of hits :)

    Thanks, Cir ;)

See, I like playing with graphics and imagery, but this time I left it all up to the Missus. She knows XHTML, CSS and all the fancy web-stuff so I just stepped aside.

awesome man, i’m going to sort out my portfolio website in the new year, currently at http://www.breadontoast.com , it does the job, but it’s also terribly out of date, the back end is a blogging platform my mate built for me in 2003!

hope it brings some interest in your work !

Out of date, sure. But I do like the Sex Pistols-esque feel, heh.

But thanks, I too hope it brings some kind of interest.
