Now it’s not that I get bored a lot, but sometimes I feel the need to fart about with a random picture. Obviously with all this World Building shenanigans, Arbiture / Angelus / The Fallen have been on my mind a lot so I figured, ‘shit, why the hell not rustle up something’. So, I did…

Even by my standards, it’s not fantastic but it’s okay. The book, wing and text could be ‘evened’ out so they seem more on one level, but I like the old, ancient feel of it. In hindsight, the wing looks a bit like a hawk… dah well!

I kind of like it. Try to make the title brighter so it’s more readable. See how that looks, then.

Trust me, I tried it. The problem was I had to rasterize the text into an image and when that happens, you loose control over the smaller things like text colour specifics — the brighter the colour, the brighter the burn effect and it all goes south.

I think it was better half-way through… this is the end version.

    But thanks!

it catches the eye, for sure. since most of my book buys are inspired first by the cover (& then by the bit on the back or inside cover), I’d say you’ve got a great one here.

  • RG Sanders

    Sweet.

Thanks for the comment and compliment, Alex.

You shall be going on my little blogroll thingy (also helps me find your page quicker, hehe)

reciprocated. Do you create all the pics I see on your site?

  • RG Sanders

    Nooo, no no no.

Given time I might be able to ‘art’ up some angels of my own, but in the meantime I like to showcase the angel art of others.

I’m actually going to do a post crediting everyone I have shown, so it’s funny you asked.

Obviously I did this mock-up, and I did a couple more which I’m posting.

Good art though, aye? Talented folk.
